Title: A Review of Literature on HIV/AIDS and STIs with Respect to Female Sex Workers in Nepal

Abstract: This study was conducted in response to the request made by World Vision International Nepal. The basic objective of the study was to review literature of available secondary data related to HIV/AIDS and STIs with relation to sex workers and their male clients at both national level and with respect to Kaski and Rupandehi district. The review has mainly covered behavioral surveillance surveys; situation analysis and baseline surveys; sero-prevalence survey and behavior change intervention assessment; and qualitative/ethnographic studies with respect to female sex workers (FSWs). The study has also reviewed the government policy and the strategy on HIV/AIDS and STIs with respect to FSWs.
