Title: Integrated Bio_Behavioral Survey (IBBS) Among Male Injecting Drug
Users (IUDs) in Western to Far Western Terai
The objective of this first round of Integrated Bio_Behavioral Survey (IBBS)
was to estimate the prevalence of HIV among IDUs in the four districts
of Rupandehi, Banke, Kailali and Kanchanpur in the Western to Far
Western Terai. The study assesses drug injecting and their sexual
behavior and HIV status of IDUs. The study measured the the proportion
of IDU sub population that transmit HIV infection because of their
practive of high risk injecting behavior and having sexual links with
regular and non_regular partners. The study would provide baseline data
for measuring the effectiveness of intervention programs aimed at
reducing the “at risk” behavior of the IDUs.
