Round III - 2005
Abstract: This third round of the
Integrated Bio-Behavioral Survey (IBBS) carried out among the truckers
driving along the East-West highways of Nepal. The main objective of the
study was to determine the prevalence of HIV and Syphilis among the
truckers. The study assesses HIV/STI related risk behaviors, prevalence
of HIV and Syphilis infection, genital ulcers and urethral discharges,
knowledge and treatment of STI problems, knowledge and use of condoms,
exposure to available HIV/STI services, The study also assesses
socio-demographic characteristics of truck drivers, behavioral and
biological correlates of HIV and Syphilis infections
