Title: Integrated Biological and Behavioral Surveillance Survey (IBBS) among Male Injecting Drug Users (IDUs) in Pokhara Valley, Round IV 2009.

Abstract: This is the fourth round of IBBS carried out among the male IDUs in the Pokhara Valley. The over all objective of the study was to examine the prevalence of HIV and syphilis among IDUs of the Pokhara valley. The study assesses the socio-economic characteristics, drug using and neddle sharing behaviors, sexual behavior, knowledge and use of condoms, knowledge of HIV/AIDS, knowledge and treatment of STIs among the IDUs of study site. The study finding shows that three in hundred people among the IDUs found HIV positive, nearly all IDUs knew abut the sources new syringes; all the respondents had heard about HIV/AIDS while seventeen percent of the had not heard about STIs.
