Integrated Biological and Behavioral
Surveillance Survey (IBBS) among Male Injecting Drug Users (IDUs) in
Western to Far-Western Terai of Nepal, Round III – 2009
Abstract: This third round IBBS among the
male Injecting Drug Users (IDUs) was carried out from the seven terai
districts, Rupandehi, Kapilbastu, Dang, Banke, Barkia, Kailali and
Kanchanpur of Western to Far-Western Development Region of Nepal. The
study was conducted with objective of examining the HIV and AIDS
prevalence among the study population. The study assesses the
socio-demographic characteristics, HIV/AIDS related risk behavior,
sexual and drug using habits, awareness on HIV/AIDS/STI, and prevention.
The also analyzed the trends through the comparison the data of selected
variables obtained from the first, second and present round of the IBSS.
