Baseline and End-line Surveys for Nepal Community
Managed Schools Impact Evaluation
This study measured the impact of the management transfer on the effectiveness of schools. The study compared between
2007 baseline survey and end-line of the survey in terms of schools effectiveness in enrolment, promotion, dropout and completion. The study
also assesses student learning achievement; access to education for girls, dalit and other disadvantaged groups; teaching and learning
competencies and the perception of the stakeholders regarding the services delivery by the schools. A total of 220 sample schools, 150
under experimental group and remaining 70 under control group were randomly selected from east to far-west 16 districts. Altogether 6,691
primary grade school children and 907 primary levels teachers were covered under achievement test of mathematics and nepali language. Under
the TIMMS test 4,735 students of five grades were covered in this study
