‘Navi” Care Program (CNCP), a USAID funded seven years program, was
implemented JSI with support of Ministry of Health. The goal of the
program was to reduce neonatal sepsis and newborn deaths in Nepal.
This study was to determine the level of knowledge, availability and
practice of Chlorhexidine by recently delivered women (RDW) in their
last pregnancy. The study assesses knowledge of correct procedure for
use, and the purpose of applying to newborn umbilical cord; level of
use on the umbilical cord of newborns and compliance with prescribed
application of Chlorhexidine.
