Title : A Baseline Study of Commercial Sex Workers and Sex Clients on the Land Transportation Routes From Naubise to Janakpur and Birgunj

Abstract : The primary objective of this study was to collect benchmark data on commercial sexual networking among commercial sex workers (CSWs) and their clients along the highway routes from Naubise to Janakpur and Birgunj so as to design proper HIV interventions, the quasi experimental design was followed under which some areas as control to the program were included in the study. The control area basically covered the vicinity of the highway west of Narayanghat up to Butwal and Bhairahawa and east of Dhalkebar which included Lahan, Itahari and Biratnagar. The specific locations in these transportation routes were selected on the basis of the intensity of bus and trucks stopping for the purpose of rest and recreation.
