Title: Poverty Reduction Assessment of Selected ADB Financed Projects in Nepal

Abstract: In the efforts made by His Majesty's Government of Nepal towards poverty reduction, Asian Development Bank (ADB) provided significant financial assistance in different sector. This study was to assess the extent of achievements made towards poverty reduction in the communities of Nepal. The study examined the adequate provisions in the project design to address poverty reduction issues, appropriate mechanisms exist to monitor and evaluate the attainments and problems of the project in reducing poverty. The study was focused in four ADB financed project, (i) Kathmandu Urban Development Project (ii) Third Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Project (iii) Micro-credit Project for Nepal and (iv) Irrigation Management Transfer Project.
