Title : The Effects of Nepal-India Trade and Transit Crisis on Fuelwood and Forests in Nepal

Abstract: The study assesses the impact of trade and transit crisis ignited by India’s refusal to renew the Nepal-India Trade and Transit Treaty terminated on March 23, 1989, on Nepal’s fuel wood and forests. It provides an in-depth information on fuel-wood consumption and forest destruction/degradation, and recommends future policy options. The report is based primarily on secondary information and field observation.
