Title: Development of Bharatpur Area with Emphasis on
Industrialization
Abstract: The study
attempts to analyze the development potential of Bharatpur sub-region for
secondary (industries) and tertiary (trade, commerce, service and tourism)
activities. The study deals with factors associated with industrial location,
delineation of economic hinterland of the Bharatpur sub-region and
comparative study of some urban localities in the central and western
development regions. In addition, it also deals with other aspects such as
demography and economic structures, and land use. Industrial promotion
policies and action program have been recommended. Based on the analysis, an
action plan (1990-95) for the study region has been formulated.
