Endline Survey of Micronutrient Supplementation for Children
in Food Insecure Districts
Abstract: The micronutrient supplementation
project of WFP was implemented with expectation of reduction of Anemia
prevalence by twenty five percent after six months’ intervention. Under
this project the children receiving the MNP sachets, sixty percent
consume at least 80% of the sachets; and eighty percent of mothers and
caregivers accept giving their children the sachets.
This survey was
conducted to obtain the data on anemia prevalence as an indicator of the
program impact. The study has measured the nutritional status,
particularly anemia levels, parasite infection of children aged 6- 59
months. The study also assesses the infant and young child feeding
practices and household food security status in the study site.
