<table><tbody><tr><td colspan="1" rowspan="1"><p>Kamlari Emancipation Program was implemented by Nepal Youth Foundation (NYF) in five mid and far-western (Dang, Banke Badiya, Kailali and Kanchanpur) districts of Nepal. The program was carried out to emancipate the Kamlari system (a type of indentured labor practice) from the Tharu Community of the area. This study examined the relevance, effectiveness, sustainability and impact of the program on the freed kamalaris. The study also assessed the social, economic, psychological and political changes in their lives.<br>Objectives was to have an independent assessment of the achievements of NYF's 20 years' involvement in dradication of Kamlari proctive which ws prevalent among poor Tharu families in western Terai districts of Nepal</p></td></tr></tbody></table>
