A Review of Literature on HIV/AIDS and STIs with Respect to Female Sex Workers in Nepal

This study was conducted in response to a request made by World Vision International Nepal. The basic objective of the study was to review literature of available secondary data related to HIV/AIDS and STIs in relation to sex workers and their male clients at both the national level and with respect to Kaski and Rupandehi districts. The review mainly covers behavioral surveillance surveys; situation analysis and baseline surveys; sero-prevalence surveys; behavior change intervention assessments; and qualitative/ ethnographic studies with respect to FSWs. The study also reviews Government policies and strategies on HIV/AIDS and STIs with respect to FSWs.
