A Study on Population Pressure Index (PPI) in Nepal

A population pressure index is a measure of a country’s population carrying capacity. This study analyzes the population situation in Nepal based on the latest census. It examines the spatial extent of the population in the broader framework of population density, land availability and other mappable indicators of basic and social services like school enrollment, health services, non-farm activities, road accessibility and energy. It also produces a population pressure index and identifies areas of population pressure in Nepal.
