Baseline Survey for Decentralized Action for Children and Women (DACAW) Program in Saptari District

The DACAW program (earlier known as the DPCP) was launched by UNICEF/Nepal, in collaboration with the Ministry of Local Development, in 13 districts of Nepal. The main objective of the program is to assist families and communities to build their capacity to improve the situation of children and women and to assist local bodies (DDCs, VDCs and community based organizations) and NGOs to build their capacity to implement district programs. This study contains baseline information on health, nutrition, and education in Saptari District. The study also contributed to the building of district level capacity in relation to data collection and analysis by involving appropriate district level persons in various stages of the survey.
